Family

In Florence and Italy in general, the Florentines value family. Life revolves around the family for Florentine families. Children usually leave their parent's house very late. They move out in their 30's. The reason for this is because there are very high living expenses, and that the person is really attached to his or her family. Dating is also very different for Florentines and their families. For Florentine couples, it may take months, or sometimes years before the couple can begin to date alone. Usually, they begin going to events or dates in groups. Then, after a certain period of time, the couple will detach themselves from the group. But, since the majority of young adults live with their parents, it it very rare for a Florentine to invite a girlfriend or boyfriend to their parents' house.
